Growing up, my dad used to make these burgers all the time, and to this day this is one of my favorite burger recipes of all time. He always called them “glorified burgers” and when my mom would attempt the recipe he and I would poke fun at her and tell her that her version was “modified, not glorified”…Anyways, enough of the stupid inside jokes from my childhood that you clearly don’t care about. These burgers are meant to be thick and juicy…don’t skimp on the patties…these should be legitimate quarter to half-pounders. Enjoy.
Venison “Glorified” Burgers
Ingredients
The Burger Patties!
- 2 lbs ground venison
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup sweet bar-b-que sauce
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- salt
- black pepper
Fixins
- potato rolls
- red onion
- lettuce
- tomato
- pickles
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- American cheese
Instructions
Patty Mixture
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients from the "The Burger Patties" section. Mix thoroughly into the meat until all ingredients are combined.
Grilling and Construction!
- Form into 1/4 to 1/2 pound patties.
- Grill the patties on high heat until they are golden brown and charred on both sides. This should take about three minutes per side depending on the heat of your grill and the thickness of your patty.
- Butter the bun and toast face down until golden brown.
- Layer on the patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, pickles and any other fixin's! Open a cold beer and enjoy!!
